Abstract

ABSTRAKProgram pengabdian masyarakat ini berlokasi di SMK Bhineka Karawang, Kabupaten Karawang.Kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan dalam penggunaan Genre-Based Approach (GBA) dan integerasi penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran menulis yang menargetkan guru SMK Bahasa Inggris sebagai peserta pelatihan. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk membangun kemampuan guru dalam meningkatkan kompetensi saat mengajar keterampilan dalam menulis dalam hal ini pendekatan pembelajaran menulis GBA. Pelatihan ini pula memberikan pengalaman pada pengajar buat mengenali aplikasi teknologi yang dapat dipergunakan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris SMK dalam mengajar menulis. Genre Based Approach (GBA) adalah pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis teks yang berfokus pada kemampuan siswa untuk menulis teks yang relevan secara kontekstual. Ada empat tahapan pendekatan GBA yang dikenal dengan tahapan: (1) membangun konteks; (2) dekonstruksi model (2) pelatihan konstruksi/terpandu gabungan; dan (3) tulisan mandiri. Penyuluhan yang diberikan kepada guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Bahasa Inggris diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan terkait penerapan GBA secara tertulis dan dapat meningkatkan semangat guru mengajar sehingga dapat mencapai hasil belajar yang optimal serta memberikan kemudahan bagi siswanya dalam menulis dengan metode GBA.Kata kunci: dekontruksi model, gabungan, Genre-Based Approach (GBA), guru SMK Bahasa Inggris, menulis, membangun konteks, pelatihan, siswa. ABSTRACTThis community service program is located at SMK Bhineka Karawang, Karawang Regency. This activity is in the form of training in the use of the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) and the integration of the use of technology in writing learning that targets English Vocational High School teachers as participants. The purpose of this training is to build the ability of teachers to improve competence when teaching writing skills, this is the GBA writing learning approach. This training also provides teachers with experience in finding technology applications that can be used by Vocational English teachers in teaching writing. Genre Based Approach (GBA) is a text-based learning approach that focuses on students' ability to write contextually relevant texts. There are four stages of the GBA approach known as stages: (1) build context; (2) deconstruction model or tels; (2) combined construction/guided training; and (3) independent writing. The counseling given to English Vocational High School teachers is expected to increase knowledge of the application of GBA in writing and can increase the enthusiasm of teachers to teach so that they can achieve optimal learning outcomes and provide convenience for students in writing related to the GBA method.Keywords: build context, combined construction, English Vocational High School teachers, Genre Based Approach (GBA), students, training, writing.
